D.C. personal trainer dances, twirls through workouts
Rania Jaziri, owner of Jordin’s Paradise, teaches group fitness classes that most gyms don’t offer. Six days a week, members can join in Jaziri’s sexy dance classes to learn belly dancing, chair dancing, zumba or pole dancing while burning calories and losing weight. Jordin’s Paradise, which opened in January 2010, also has yoga, pilates, kickboxing and other, more off-beat classes. Jaziri says other gyms might offer one or two of the same classes she does, but they don’t have all her choices in one location.
The studio, located across the street from the Convention Center metro, keeps class space limited, so Jaziri and her other instructors can focus more time on each participant. The Saturday afternoon beginning pole dancing class, for example, has eight spots. “It’s more like a family,” Jaziri says.
