Saying good-bye

For weeks I’d been planning how I would leave D.C. after four years. You all know I make a lot of lists so there were lists upon lists. And then I’d contemplated what I would write about it all.

Well, that old saying about the best laid plans, it’s true. The big D.C./east coast storm blew all my expectations completely away, along with the electricity. No blogging (or AC) for me.

Finally, I just had to leave. Currently, I’m enjoying a wonderful vacation in the North Carolina mountains with family. This vacation is especially wonderful because just a few months ago I wasn’t sure I would get to come.

I’ve found time now to look back over what I haven’t been blogging about — the final weeks in Washington. I really wanted to write some insightful posts about everything I squeezed into my last days in the Capitol or some such nonsense.

I’ve been trying to snap pictures like crazy to have something interesting to blog about. Yet, you’ll notice I forgot to take a lot of pictures of me with people. dumb blonde.

But now I’m not really sure what to say. I know I have more to say but for now …
